November 1 - 11, 2017 at TD Bank
Veterans represent 10% of America’s homeless population. In Connecticut, at least 950 Veterans do not have homes. Since opening its doors in 2002, ABRI: Homes for the Brave has provided housing, vocational training and job placement, mental health and addiction services, and life skills coaching to help individuals, especially Veterans, leave homelessness behind. To date, the organization has worked with more than 1,200 individuals. A great need still exists for housing programs and vocational services like these.
That’s why on Wednesday, November 1st through Saturday, November 11th we came together with the community at select Connecticut Store locations to collect donations for ABRI: Homes for the Brave. There was a tremendous amount of energy among our Employers and Customers. It seemed that there wasn’t a single person that stopped by that didn’t have a story to share about a family member, friend or neighbor who had served. Thanks to the community and a grant from the TD Charitable Foundation, together we raised $7,150.83. Now ABRI: Homes for the Brave can continue to help purchase food and toiletries for veterans in need.
