The Sisters’ Project is a group of biological sisters – and sisters through friendship- that are committed to raising funds in support of cancer patients and their families. Started by two women who had a connection — both of their sisters were diagnosed with cancer at the same time, Sisters’ Project has helped over 100 families in the community. And each year, two $2,000 scholarships are awarded to seniors in high school who are a cancer survivor or the child of a cancer survivor.
That’s why, on Friday, October 14th, we came together with the community to collect donations at our 926 N Colony Road Store. We saw lots of friendly faces, all supporting The Sisters’ Project. The team engaged with everyone who came to the event while sporting their pink breast cancer awareness ribbons. One of the first donations came from a breast cancer survivor and Customer who had received support from The Sisters’ Project. Many supporters shared stories of their battles with cancer and took the time to sign the event poster. And to spread the word beyond the event, Fox News stopped by for footage and interviews. Thanks to local support and a grant from the TD Charitable Foundation, we raised a total of $2,445.70. Now The Sisters’ Project have over half of the funds needed to award the two $2,000 annual scholarships.
