November 1 - 10, 2017 at TD Bank
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) affects one in five combat veterans. In an effort to help those suffering from this disorder, K9s on The Front Line works to supply fully trained PTSD service dogs at no cost to the recipient. The nonprofit’s staff have first-hand knowledge of the effects of PTSD and have experienced the intimate process of tailoring each dog to the individual’s needs. They work tirelessly to match service dogs and veterans in need, often times saving two lives in the process.
On Wednesday, November 1st through Friday, November 10th we came together with the community at select Portland Store locations to collect donations for K9s On the Front Line. Local veterans and their furry companions stopped by to join the event. Thanks to the community and a grant from the TD Charitable Foundation, together we raised a total of $7,143.96 to help support veterans, and canines, in need.
