November 1 - 10, 2017 at TD Bank
For military members serving overseas, it’s good to get a little taste of home. Operation Yellow Ribbon of South Jersey is an official 501©3 non-profit program that collects and donates supplies and goodies to send to soldiers deployed in the Middle East. On average, the organization collects over 4,000 pounds of treats each month to send as care packages. The non-profit also helps promote, coordinate, and facilitate welcome home events for local veterans in the South Jersey area. But, they can’t do it alone.
That’s why on Wednesday, November 1st through Friday, November 10th we came together with the community at select South Jersey Store locations to collect donations for Operation Yellow Ribbon. Thanks to local support and a grant from the TD Charitable Foundation, together we raised a total of $16,580.06. The collected funds will help ship over 550 boxes of supplies to support our troops with gifts from home. President of the non-profit, David Silver, was thrilled with the much needed support.
He explained, “It’s easy to say ‘I support the Troops.’ Many throw a magnet on the back of the car and that’s about it. However, through Bring Change, TD Bank has truly shined a light on what it means to ‘Support the Troops.’ Your help, time, effort and energy will not be lost on us. With this money we can continue our mission of sending care packages to those far away from home and away from their loved ones.”
