March 13 - 17, 2017 at TD Bank
Community support is key to ending hunger locally. That’s why Island Harvest Food Bank in Long Island delivers surplus food that might otherwise go to waste to their network of 570 food pantries, soup kitchens and other non-profit organizations across Nassau County. Since 1992, they have delivered 130 million pounds of food, 108 million meals to help feed those in need. Now they are raising funds to keep their great work going.
That’s why, between Monday, March 13th and Friday, March 17th, we came together with the community to collect donations at our Stores listed below. We saw lots of friendly faces, all supporting Island Harvest Food Bank. And thanks to local support and a grant from the TD Charitable Foundation, we raised a total of $6,000. Plus we collected 1,002 pounds of food to donate. Altogether, that’s over 4700 meals. Now Island Harvest Food Bank can continue to provide much-needed food for Long Island residents who depend on their assistance
