August 5 - 11, 2017 at TD Bank
Nourishment comes in many forms. For MANNA (Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance) they know that those at nutritional risk due to life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, renal disease and HIV/AIDS, need more than just food. They need heartfelt community volunteers who help cook and deliver 3 meals a day, 7 days a week—all free of charge. That’s how MANNA brings communities together to help individuals battle illness and improve their quality of life in the Greater Philadelphia area and Southern New Jersey.
That’s why on Saturday, August 5th through Friday, August 11th, we helped collect donations at 15 stores across 2 states. TD team members showed their pride with green t-shirts featuring MANNA’s logo. In addition, more than 70 TD team members rolled up their sleeves and volunteered to chop, cook, dice, and prepare meals for a total of 215 volunteer hours. When all was said and done, we came together with the community to help raise $20,592.31. This money will help offset MANNA’s cost to provide 5,390 meals to individuals in need. But the impact it will have on lives is something that goes well beyond the numbers.
